Golden Empire to Silver Screen

OBA is honoured organise the event Golden Empire to Silver Screen - Using China's ancient past to reimagine culture and film.

Join Oscar-winning art director Tim Yip in conversation with The Citi exhibition China's hidden century curator Jessica Harrison-Hall.

Tim Yip is best known for his work on the Oscar-winning film Crouching tiger, hidden dragon, a ground-breaking project that reintroduced Chinese cinema and culture to the Western world. Yip and Harrison-Hall will be discussing Yip's creative process and delving into his interdisciplinary work across film, theatre, contemporary art, fashion, photography and writing. As part of the discussion, he will also be showcasing costumes whose themes tie into The Citi exhibition China's hidden century.

This daytime talk will give Members the opportunity to get closer to Yip's fascinating work and legacy, exploring how the ancient past can influence present culture.
